In the grand manner of Manet’s Olympia, Adam is reclining on a chaise-longue covered in artfully draped Harald 2. Dreamt up by the late Swedish textile designer Fanny Aronsen, Harald is a short-pile velour that looks and feels just like velvet. Thanks to Raf Simons, Harald recently received a color update and is now available in beautiful primrose yellow and 19 other hues. Not to be outdone, Adam’s identical twin brother Patrick is posing next to a wall of Star fabric. Made from Trevira CS fire-resistant yarns, Star was designed by the artist Finn Sködt in a color palette inspired by Renaissance paintings. In the foreground are a woolen Sirocco and a velvety mohair Pillar cushion, both designed by Raf Simons. All fabrics are available through KVADRAT. The Slon Push Top side table was designed by Ana Kraš and is available through MATTER, New York. Adam is wearing a sleeveless cotton jacket and split-front shorts by TELFAR. Patrick is wearing a cotton trench coat by TELFAR. The grape-colored leather collapse pants and Paris shoes are both by HOOD BY AIR. Inset: The light-blue Tonale vase is a design by David Chipperfield and is available through ALESSI.

KVADRAT KVADRAT Adam and Patrick present a modern version of Manet’s Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe (minus the female nude), played out against geometrically patterned upholstery fabric in hues of blue and green. Covering the chaise and the background is Porte, a design made from a mix of acrylic, polyester, and rayon that has the appearance of embroidered velvet and comes in ten different color variations. Casually draped in the background is Mandala, a fabric named after the spiritual Indian symbol for the universe and rendered in a highly durable nylon/polyester blend. All fabrics are available through DESIGNTEX. The table is a special artist’s edition by Shawn Maximo for USM made from chromed steel, modular brass balls, and a dichroic-glass top and bottom. The oil-and-vinegar set and water glass are by BOTTEGA VENETA and are made from precious Murano glass. Adam is wearing an embroidered and hand-dyed green-denim jacket and khaki shorts by TELFAR. His white-cotton shirt is by COS. Patrick’s white-cotton shirt with blue-paneled sleeves and collar are by COMME DES GARÇONS SHIRT. His sarong is made from Little Plaid fabric by DESIGNTEX. Both their sandals are by BOTTEGA VENETA and the pinkie rings are by PATRICIA VON MUSULIN. Inset: The nappa-leather picture frame as well as Adam and Patrick’s cotton-knit caps are by BOTTEGA VENETA.

Twins Hector and Jan Carlos make for a beautiful tableau posing against fabric and an assortment of pillows in the classic Checker pattern (in black and white and olive and pink), designed in 1965 by Alexander Girard and produced in a cotton-polyester blend. The orange and red Bright fabrics on the chaise are a 2015 creation by Dutch design duo Scholten & Baijings and are made from a mix of cotton, polyester, and nylon. Both are available through MAHARAM. The rust-colored Cesar side-table was designed by Rodolfo Dordoni for MINOTTI and is available through DDC. Hector is wearing a bronze-colored Shadow shirt and bronze-and-black Paint Brush swim shorts, while Jan Carlos sports a fine-knit cotton tunic, matching shorts, and khaki calfskin Atacama boots. All clothing, footwear, and bracelets by BALENCIAGA. Earrings by PATRICIA VON MUSULIN. Inset: The decorative paper tray and photo frame were handcrafted in BOTTEGA VENETA’s signature intrecciato nappa leather.

The not-so-boresome foursome relaxes on a vast array of pillows produced by German rug-design whiz JAN KATH. Inspired by the upholstered divans found in parts of India and the Middle East, the pillows are stuffed with hand-spun raw cotton for extra fluffiness while their exterior casing makes use of KATH’s patented Erased Heritage technique, giving them an antique appearance. Hanging in the background is Brasilia, a fabric made from a wild mix of linen, cotton, wool, polyamide, silk, and bamboo, available through E15. The Button side table is a 2014 creation by London design duo Barber Osgerby for B&B ITALIA and boasts a white-Carrara-marble top. Jan Carlos is wearing pants by ECKHAUS LATTA, an AMERICAN APPAREL tube top, a black-nylon fedora by ADIDAS Y-3, and CAMPER Spray sandals. Adam is wearing a cross-zip jumpsuit by HOOD BY AIR. Hector is wearing a black sheer peasant top by GYPSY SPORT and two-tone jeans by KENZO. Patrick is wearing a denim jacket by COS, tailored line pants by HOMME PLISSÉ BY ISSEY MIYAKE, and white hair-on-hide ankle booties by ECKHAUS LATTA. Inset: BALENCIAGA’s adorably sized nécessaire conveniently holds anything from cigarettes to a deck of cards.

Hector and Jan Carlos strike a regal pose against the black-and-white Tangram fabric by DEDAR made from hand-woven matka silk screen-printed with an expressive black geometric pattern. The coffee-colored Ziggy fabric on the chaise, also by DEDAR, combines a viscose-polyester base with an elegant zig-zag relief in linen. The cashmere-silk-mix blanket on the left is adorned with a Léopard de Ceylan motif while the silk-and-cotton cushion and Jan Carlos’s sarong feature Robert Dallet’s famous Croquis de tigre motif. All of them are available through HERMÈS. The brushed-brass Vulcano side table is a design by Mauro Lipparini for CASA INTERNATIONAL. Hector is wearing a water-snake zip-up hoodie by HERMÈS; his pleated charcoal-gray pants are by HOMME PLISSÉ BY ISSEY MIYAKE, and his ankle boot by JOHN FLUEVOG. Jan Carlos’s goatskin T-shirt and gray derby shoes are by HERMÈS. All jewelry is by PATRICIA VON MUSULIN and EDDIE BORGO. Inset: another variation of HERMÈS’s Croquis de tigre silk-and-cotton cushions, this one in forest green.
