CELEBRATING THE LEGACY OF FIRE ISLAND MODERNIST, HORACE GIFFORD
Over 200 guests came out to help PIN–UP and co-hosts Mark Fletcher, Alexander Galan, Seth Weissman, and Josh Wood celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Fire Island Pines and the legacy of the late architect Horace Gifford at The Standard, High Line on Monday, May 8th.
Revelers were treated to a stunning sunset, music by Honey Dijon, and Planters Punch (a Fire Island classic), before proceeding to the Standard’s High Line Room for a panel discussion moderated by PIN–UP editor Felix Burrichter and featuring Chris Rawlins, author of Fire Island Modernist: Horace Gifford and the Architecture of Seduction; Karen Wong, Deputy Director of the New Museum; Matthias Hollwich, partner of the architecture firm HWKN; and Rafael de Cárdenas, founder of the New York-based design form Architecture at Large.
